Suffolk Day 2024

On Friday 21st June, or over the weekend, residents and visitors were encouraged to explore the culture and creativity across the county. #SuffolkDay Haverhill hosted this year's Suffolk Day Proclamation.

Cllr David Smith, Haverhill Town Mayor, said: “It’s a privilege to see Haverhill being named as the host of this year’s Suffolk Day. The town is a place of great diversity, culture, greenery and history, all things that make Suffolk a county to be proud of. This year’s celebrations centre around culture and creativity, something which Haverhill has in abundance."

History of Suffolk Day

In 2016, Mark Murphy of BBC Radio Suffolk was inspired to recognise everything that makes Suffolk great and, along with Archant, the County Council, and many other stakeholders, created the now famous Suffolk Day. For several years now, the good folk of Suffolk have celebrated all that makes this county great on the longest day of the year.
